Creating an account

How do I register an account?

To register an account with ufocomet.com, you must click the register link found on the right side of the login box.

How do I login to my account?

On all the pages of ufocomet.com there is a login box on the right side under the main menu. Type in your username and password and press the login button.

Forgot Password

How can I reset my password?

If you have forgotten your password, please click here and fill in the details required.

User menu

I have logged in, now what?

Once logged in, a user menu is generated in the location where the login box once was. There are four icons on the user menu, each having a different purpose.

My Profile

How do I modify my profile?

Hover your mouse over the Edit button and click update your profile. This will load up the editing page. You will be presented with two tabs:

Portrait: Upload an image of yourself or an image you own to serve as your avatar. Select Upload profile image from the drop-down box, then click Browse and select your image. Click the Update button to upload the image.

Contact info: Its important to note that you can change your password and email here. The about me field and the website field will appear on your profile and also at the bottom of all the articles that are published on ufocomet.com. Once the fields are to your liking click the Update button to save your details.

Submitting an article

You will be presented with a submission page with various buttons, tabs and fields. Here is what they mean:

Title: Enter the title of your article here, anything over 70 characters will be rejected. So keep it short.

Article Body: Write or paste your article into this area. Please do not add more then two website links to your article, always put your links at the bottom of your article.

Details: Select the category you wish to submit your article too. Remember to select the most relevant category.

Note: Remember adding more than one link to the same webpage will dilute its value in SEO terms. Updating your profile will allow you add another website link to the bottom of your article along with your bio, so make use of your profile.

Toggle Editor: Clicking this button, found at the bottom left of the Article body, will allow you to turn off the TINY editor. If the text looks out of place or slanting to one side then turn off the TINY editor, as it may cause conflict with some older website browsers.

Metadata: Fill in the Description field with a short summary of your article. Fill in the Keywords field with various keywords that relate to your article, eg: cows, ducks, farming

Submit Article: Click this button  to submit your article for review. Click this button  to close the submission form.
