Can you give a scientific explanation of an event in which a glass of water suddenly starts to fly! It is unbelievable. However, let us suppose that it happened with you. You saw a flying glass of water with your own eyes! How would you explain it scientifically? Most probably, you will fail to do so. No one would believe you but you will not admit that it is your imagination. This is what paranormal is. Every human experience that lacks of scientific explanation is considered as paranormal. The concepts of ghosts and spirits, which are almost held by all the societies existing in the world today, are unexplainable with logic but are still strongly alleged. Usually the things, which are not normal, are known as paranormal.
The cultural stories, religion and folktales are the sources from where the concepts of paranormal entities are taken up by the societies. However, the scientific knowledge contradicts all such accounts because of unempirical nature of phenomenon. It is human psyche that imagines super powers, which are beyond the nature and sometimes, appear as ghosts and spirits. In some religions, it is highly believed that after death human beings turn out to become spirits and keep on staying in this world. As the spirits are metaphysical so they are not visible to human beings but they appear before the people for multiple purposes. While the scientific society gainsay all such beliefs, by arguing that there is no evidence for the existence of paranormal. According to psychiatrists, the people who claim to have seen and observe the paranormal entities have some psychological disorders, which need immediate treatment. However, it can not be denied that science is still unable to explain many of the aspects of mind and brain.
The paranormal and implausible events can not be denied just because it negates the fixed scientific principles. The knowledge of science proves by observation that a crow is always black because all the crows, which have been seen, yet are black. However, let us suppose a case in which a crow is white. Such a case can prove our induction wide of the mark. Therefore, there are perhaps certain things, which are beyond the nature. In addition, science can only explain the nature and what is observable only. This is the limitation of scientific knowledge. Some of the scientists have still attempted to work on the complex issue of paranormal. All of them came up with different approaches. However, these approaches can be used to explain the paranormal happenings around us.
