A UFO is an unidentified flying object. They have usually been spotted at various incidences around the world. Studies over the years have determined that the vast majority of UFO sightings are actually observations of a somewhat real but common item or house hold objects most commonly aircraft, balloons, or astronomical objects. These could be meteors or in some cases that are also just bright planets orbiting at times, that have been mistakenly identified by observers as potential anomalies. There is a large group that stresses that most UFO sightings that have been reported are hoaxes. Only between 5% to 20% of anomalous sightings can be classified as unidentified flying objects in the strictest sense.
There are many reasons that people think flying objects are UFOs: The lighting: Any flying object can be mistaken for a UFO when the lights on it are either of different colors, and they blink in a weird sequence. The blinking lights in an aircraft flying very high above can be mistake for a signal of a UFO. Some extremists take a lot of time and effort, spending long hours looking up into the sky in search of UFO type objects just to report in.
Hoaxes: The majority of UFO reports are all based on no consequential or concrete facts. The images that are produced as facts, once analyzed provide a vital image and thus most of them are proved as hoaxes and scams. People will at times throw up a balloon and film it just to see their names flashed across the media. For scientists this is a different ball game. The quest for life on other planets is what sparks the UFO sightings more in the scientific world.
The origin: Scientists have for a very long time been trying to find the proof of life on another planet. Or even that there is a whole other universe other than ours. This quest has led many people into developing the faith and belief that UFO sighting are real and that there is life on other planets. The sightings that the science community report are not those that can be seen by normal people. They are rather those that can only be seen by highly powered telescopes that the scientists use.
The post era of War II was a great UFO phase in the United States. The first mistaken sighting began with a famous sighting by American businessman Kenneth Arnold on June 24, 1947 while he was flying his private plane near Mount Rainier, Washington. He reported that he saw nine brilliantly bright-lit objects flying across the face of Rainier.
