 Before 2012 there was the Y2K prediction which turned out to be nothing at all. Y2K involved a bug where computer clocks could not change to the correct date and possible havoc was predicted in many sectors of society. The prediction stirred up its own form of panic and many people heard about it through various media outlets, mainly offline. There wasn’t that much fear attached to the Y2K prediction because it was death free. No fireballs from the sky or anything like that.
The difference between the two predictions is that Y2k was predicted by modern IT professionals while 2012 has the ancient Mayan calendar finishing on 21/12/2012. The internet was more or less in its hay day back in 2000, since then internet users have sky rocketed and the sharing of information has exploded with the introduction of online social networks, which results in more people knowing about events that may or may not occur.
The internet has played a big part in fanning the flames of groundless predictions for 2012. Its seems everyone has a prediction for 2012 and throws it on the ever increasing wagon. But they are also some predictions that should be kept an eye on. Here are a few.
Super Solar Strom - Theoretical physicist, Michio Kaku has stated that 2012 may see an increase in solar flare activity and it may build up to produce a super solar storm which may effect the worlds electricity grid leaving many cities in darkness.
Planet X - An unknown planet that may pass in close proximity to the Earth. If true it may cause climate changes and major disasters throughout the whole world.
Hoaxed Alien Attack - Britain will host the Olympics in 2012 and that may be the place where a supposed alien attack may be staged. The New world Order may be behind the hoax invasion that may put the world into mass panic and cause the population of Earth to surrender their civil liberties to the invaders.
Mayan Calendar - The Mayan calendar ends bringing forth the return of Quetzalcoatl who is a Mayan God. Quetzalcoatl is described as the feathered serpent in Mayan tradition. Quetzalcoatl could also be a planet, solar body or a star constellation.
Antichrist - The Antichrist may emerge and hook his followers with promises of peace and riches. Money debts will be forgiven as people queue up to willingly receive the mark of the Beast and worship the Devil. The armies of the world will center on Jerusalem where the Anti-Christ will declare himself God at the holy place. At that point Armageddon will be over and Christ will return to save His people. Choices will have been made and you will either be witnessing His return on the evil side or good side.
No matter what happens in 2012, it is the now that is truth and matters the most. So make the now a better existence by embracing love and forgiveness and avoid hate and negative thoughts and actions because whether you choose to believe the end times will come on a certain year or not, one fact remains, an end time will happen for us all so why not enjoy living in the now and stop worrying about tomorrow. Be supportive to one another and remain open to helping and loving yourself and others.
