You have probably heard all this talk about 2012, the day the world ends, the day enlightenment begins, the day aliens come to enslave us, the day we make contact with other worldly beings or the day world war three begins. Like all doomsday prophecies there is allot of confusion floating around, stories about this or that.
As humans we have a hunger to know when existence as we know it ends, how would you like it if existence was to end tomorrow without a warning, without mercy? Would it be better then knowing when life ends? If humans had a definite date when life would seize to exist, there would possibly be allot of murders and revenge. Law would probably break down and it would be very dangerous to stay in a built up area. And of course there would be pointless looting. Others would probably find peace with themselves and God, we would all be staring a possible judgment in the face, for our works on this earth, whether you want to believe in God or not.
Nasa has claimed that in 2012 there may be a solar storm which will disturb the worlds electricity grid. Imagine the whole planet in darkness, no TV, lights, no anything to do with electricity. What would happen do you think? As we came close to the date Nasa and the governments would probably issue a warning to get people ready for the power outage. People will most likely see it as an inconvenience to there daily routine, and oh yes there will probably be looting.
So will the world end in 2012? Not according to Christian prophecy. Lets take the book of revelations which doesn't mention 2012 but mentions a blackness, mainly this passage:
And the fifth poured out his bowl upon the throne of the beast; and his kingdom became dark, and they gnawed there tongues for pain. And they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their wounds, and they did not repent of their works --Bible, Book of revelations
In my view, which is guessing, i believe that the above passage may describe the lusting and longing of people for there earthly pleasures, like accessing the internet or PC to do work or to entertain themselves. If those items were taken away from them for a brief period of time there would be people longing for there pleasures, even causing themselves inner pain (gnawed there tongues for pain) becasue they couldn't get what they want.
That is not the only reference to a blackness enveloping the world, in the dairy of St. Maria Faustina Kowalska, a nun who could communicate and see Jesus Christ, she records a rather spectacular event that will occur in the near-future.
Write this: before I come as the Just Judge, I am coming first as the King of Mercy. Before the day of justice arrives, there will be given to people a sign in the heavens of this sort:
All light in the heavens will be extinguished, and there will be great darkness over the whole earth. Then the sign of the cross will be seen in the sky, and from the openings where the hands and feet of the Savior were nailed will come forth great lights which will light up the earth for a period of time. When 2012 floats around and if the above passage happens please promise yourself to find God and Jesus before the last days drop through the hour glass. There is always time now, but some need a sign, this will be it. Do not ignore it if it happens, please.
